We usually don’t think much about what kind of chemicals we apply to our fingernails with nail polish and possibly absorb into our bodies. I haven’t been involved in this either until I came across nail polish brands such as Nailberry, who do use non-toxic ingredients. When I found out about the brand gitti a few months ago, I quickly learned that they not only make chemical-free nail polish, but also go one step further.
gitti has made it its mission to make nail polishes better – namely on a natural basis. Currently it is not yet possible to produce 100% natural nail polish. Nevertheless, Jenni – the founder of gitti – joined forces with a team of experts and is working on innovative formulas to make nail polish as harmless as possible.
What makes gitti nail polishes so special? On the one hand gitti nail polishes consist of 55% water, which makes them incredibly environmentally friendly. A large part of regular nail polish consists of chemical solvents. The gitti nail polishes are also vegan, are not tested on animals and are completely odourless. What I also think is very great is that for each purchase another person is supplied with clean drinking water through a cooperation with Charity Water.
The first collection of gitti is already sold out and I was lucky to get two of the currently four available nail polishes. The colours are incredibly beautiful and I hope that the collection will be extended by many more beautiful gitti nail polishes.
