A new year moves many of us to reflect on the past year, to conclude with it and to ask ourselves: What do I want to do better next year? Therefore, many set New Year’s resolutions so that new habits can be developed and established full of drive and, above all, with a goal in mind. To build new habits, you should monitor them. There are different ways to do so, such as using pen and paper, mobile apps or simple spreadsheets on your computer.
Sometimes it helps to resort to pen and paper to make goal monitoring more tangible. By using a habit tracker in physical form instead of a mobile app or a spreadsheet, you’ll get reminded of tracking your habits because the piece of paper is lying in front of you every day. For example, when using a mobile app on your smartphone, chances are high that you quickly push away a notification to pursue your habits. Thus, ticking another box with your pen keeps you motivated. Of course everyone needs to find the methods of habit tracking that work best for you. If you prefer pen and paper, you can start right away with my habit tracker template.
